When I come up with a DIY project on something like a bedroom that becomes *such* an eyesore to me- I move forward with full force and fall asleep at night thinking up the way it’s going to turn out. I did exactly that with my oldest daughter’s bedroom back in 2022, and I still absolutely love it to this day.
I asked her to come up with the theme (which would be loosely applied, as to not be too cheesy). She chose “fairies”. I didn’t want it to feel too young, because she would age out of it quickly and need yet another makeover. I found this wallpaper on Etsy and just fell in love the second I saw it. It feels so whimsical and the color is so rich. I measured the wall, did the math on how many panels I would need, and got to work. It was definitely time consuming to line up each panel juuuust right, but SO worth it in the end. Another bonus, it’s peel and stick, so I didn’t feel like we needed to commit to it forever.
The pics above on the left are the very obvious “before” photos- and the one on the right is the moodboard that I made for my inspiration! I still can’t believe just how good this makeover turned out, it’s one of my favorite rooms in our home!
I took it one step further and also painted her ceiling a beautiful shade of light pink by Backdrop Home.
